Choose Joy

Updated: Apr 10, 2019

Romans 8:28 "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."

During our 21 day fast there were times at the beginning that I was starving! When you are hungry it seems like that is what consumes your focus.

So when life gives you a curve in your day or in your circumstance it becomes overwhelming. It now can overtake your thoughts and cause fear to be your focus.

As the days continued in our fast, food became less of a focus and God and His word became stronger. Faith was now feeding me and fear of circumstances was being starved! I began to build a "bubble" of faith around me as my appetite for God's word began to build.

God began a new process of my understanding of what I starve will die but what I feed on will grow. Our circumstances or sickness are conditions we have but NOT who we are. We can't let one unexpected circumstance or sickness define our overall condition. I realize that this could be a day by day decision or hourly by hourly even moment by moment fight in our minds but circumstances or sickness never come at a convenient time.

I'm learning to accept every unexpected circumstance as an opportunity to trust Jesus and His word, and to expect His goodness all the way through. When we do this, there will be a moment of courage and faith that will take us to new places of faith and trust. It will begin to cause us to have unflinching and unshakeable faith as we face any unexpected event.

God's endless Joy will fill you over and over again so that nothing really knocks you off of your feet. Fear that has taken residence in our emotions and conditions will begin to be uprooted.

God never intended us to be controlled by our circumstance but to master them with trust and faith in Him!

I now cling to Romans 8:28 to watch God unfold all the good that He has planned for my life!
